ABOUT US
The Jim & Leyton Dowman story
Jalco stands for Jim and Leyton Company - and with five generations of family in Te Puke, our roots go way back. From Jim helping build the Pukepine sawmill, to Leyton beginning his after school work at age 11 - Jalco is a family owned business backed by experience and family values.
Both Jim and Leyton have extensive experience and knowledge of the industry.
Jim is a trade-certified machinist and is passionate about volunteer and charity work including Habitat for Humanity, NZ Youth Trust, Vincent House and is a director with Doing Good Foundation Tauranga.
Leyton's original business producing Stretched Artist Canvases and bars is still on-site at Jalco.
The current Jalco facility was purchased in 2007 to secure our products and further our processing and quality.
